13 yr old is on a rampage for a new pet..wants a mouse or rat..he will look after it..keep it in his room and clean it every 2 nd day!! ( yeah right..heard that one before)..*Our last mouse was in and out of the cage so often-lost- and then found by one of our cats and lived to tell the tail!!
This is probably because while I was at work yesterday, EX turned up and gave Nic a baby cockatiel..he had found at work. ( she already has 2) Well she sensibly realised we really don't have room for another and has told 16 yr old brother he can have it once we establish that it is eating ok.
It has feathers and can fly..but doesn't seem too interested in seed. So I guess we will have to get to the pet shop to see what we can get for it. It is friendly enough now but VERY noisy!!
Ex is being very nice again..besides giving baby birds..;he turned up and gave the 'kids' a ham..Unfortunately he is still going on how he can tell that I still love him!! I just shake my head..
anyhow..off to my mums to meet my sister and family..with bird in tow..should be a good day..even if she does turn up late all the time..( I'm talking hours late..here)

I'm not very tolerant when it comes to pets, all the cleaning and groming... licking!!!
As for your ex? maybe he is still in love with you and he is just waiting for you to come running into his arms saying!

I remember when my daughter had mice she said she would take care of them and clean cage and guess what she didn't. I am so glad that they have grown u[p and I don't have to worry about that anymore.
Oh my goodness, I can't imagine have a mouse as a pet, but I know people do and it's normal.
Now those birds are lovely but they do make a noise sometimes.

Think Sassy has a point in saying that Ex is still in love with you? He may be egging you on waiting for you to say what he wants to hear? Or he could just be all kinds of crazy! haha.
The little bird sounds cute though! We had a cockatiel that used to mimick the phone ringing. Drove the neighbour mad as she thought one of her kids was hiding a mobile phone she didnt know about!

At least your ex is being good with the kids (FOR NOW)...lol...Maybe he is getting into the xmas spirit....Just becareful he hasn`t planted mistletoe anywhere you may least expect it...hahaha
