All ok for now

Son had his check up and Dr is happy enough for us to stay on bi-annual check up roster. Heart condition is stable . He will need operation at some point but optimum timing is when he has stopped growing so is looking towards that point as long as remains as is. He is allowed to participate in PE ( still not footy) so he was pleased!!LOL..NOT..he doesn't really like some sporting things.

IT was HOT yesterday..so hard to handle after all our cool weather here. We all had a terrible nights sleep but it looks like it may be cooler today. I am about to crack the whip and get these youngest two cleaning up today. They have been fighting ( still are) all week..They are driving me crazy....

Hate waiting..

Miss 9 yr old had her ECG done today..and it looked normal so that is good. Have to wait a week for the cardioligist to review print out and send report to local Dr.

I managed to get to work by 11 am and then the high school rang..14 yr old was sick. He had PE 2nd period and felt sick. He generally doesn't like sporting activities and especially running around..which they did. I am not sure if he felt off due to a viral infection coming on.. or because of his heart. He has been complaining of shortness of breath after exercise. I have told him to slow down but he isn't so NO sport or PE or Taekwondo under at least after this Friday when his Bi-Annual check up is scheduled with the heart specialist. He looks generally ok but it is something always on the back of my mind that one day he needs to have operation again.

NIC started UNI today and seems positive about it all but abit daunted by the lists of reading to do and how to find them..I am sure she will work it out.

Show Day

Today was day 2 of Maitland Show. I try to take the kids every 2nd year and this year was it. I decided to try the morning as last time their were alot of drunks around at night, not to mention the older kids crowds on the rides.

Miss 9 yr old wanting to see the Dog judging so we romped up at 8.30 am. Only one SES person was in the parking field so he let us park for free and then when we went to the gates, again no- one was there so another freebie!!

We went all the way around the arena to the wrong side..there were cows..kids weren't impressed with them so trekked all the way around and found the dogs. She was estactic as she saw a dachound.

Then we had to go the show bags spot first, via a quick look at the produce etc..the kids just zoom in and out. They thought long and hard and made good choices there. Then off to have some rides. Miss 9 wouldn't go on the dodgems and no-one was there, so I said I would go on with my son in separate cars. She decided to hop in with her brother, and 2 workers jumped in cars too.

Well it was smash up MUM time!! Master 14 whacked into me so hard I was spinning , not to mention nearly hitting my head. Well that was fun so again and again he went. Some times the other 2 guys would cut him off for me but they too started bumping me.. I never knew dodgems went so long!!

The kids aren't really into the fast scary rides so the pre purchased tickets took a long time to use up ( cheaper that way) but they had fun. It was only starting to fill up as we were leaving so the morning run was good all round apart from missing the fire works.

Doctors

I have seen the doctor more than I care to of late.

Miss 9 yr old has been complaining of a sore heel for awhile so I booked her in. Then the night before, she starts screaming in pain so we race down to the Drs before he closes. The pain eased by the time we got in and he couldn't find anything but her heart was slightly irregular so now I am off to get an ECG done next Monday. ( the soonest I could get in)

Luckily the preschool still isn't open so I can start late that morning. Then Friday week I have to take 14 yr old for his bi-annual heart check up. I know all appt.s are necessary but I am sick of waiting and the cost!!

Nic is 19 tomorrow..her friends are coming over for the day as I will be at work. Lucky for her ( hahahahaha) miss 9 yr old will be home as she now feels sick and the school swimming carnival is on tomorrow. So I won't be sending her.

my 14 yr old son is refusing to go to school as he had an orientation day and part 2 is tomorrow. When he first attended the high school last year he rubbed up the wrong way with the welfare teacher. I didn't think much of her either then. She was quite rude and demanding. She told him he was a 'mummys boy' after I left. I was with him as he was the only student from his school to get into this high school. I only stayed for the talks in the hall and left when they went for the tour of the school. He never told me this until much later as he thought she was the principle and didn't want me saying anything.

She is running this programm and yells all day. My son can't stand people yelling all the time. He has made it very clear that he won't go to school. I am thinking I should just let him stay home so I at least know where he will be while I am at work. He is not doing school work just a 'getting to know you thing". Bad I know.. I haven't told him I am thinking this way as yet.

Girls!!

Nic had her first cervical cancer prevention needle on Tuesday. We had to wait awhile afterwards as she went faint but she has been ok since..just a sore arm.. She is not looking forward to the 2nd or 3rd one.

I have to go and get a raised mark on my skin cut out. I have to wait until April to get into the Skin specialist. Now it is on my mind and bugging me. It has been there for a while but the Dr said it will keep catching on things and we need to check it for as it could turn cancerous.

My mum is bugging me no end..have I had this checked? have I had that checked? why haven't I?? I know I am getting older but I really don't want to be focusing these things all the time. I am feeling paronoid enough with waiting until April. She wanted to know why I haven't had breast screening done.. I said ..Hello..it is only free for Over 50's!! If it was free for under 50's then yes I might go..but I do not feel I need to be checked..self checking seems ok..( we do not have any family history there) Then she goes on about other bits..I mean for years she never even told anyone about any of her medical history and now she is nagging. and NO she doesn't have anything bad ( that I am aware of) that should concern me too much.

My youngest daughter is being a handful again. Raising her voice at everyone, everyafternoon. She doesn't like her class work this year. Last year she was in yr3/4, mostly doing year 4 work .Now she is in Yr4 and says it is boring. I will give it a month as they are reviewing where they are all at. unfortunately the school numbers have dropped and there isn't a Yr4/5, only yr5/6. She doesnt' like going to bed and is up late all the time. I am trying to get her to bed by 9pm and am meeting much resistance. Another mum says her daughter is moody all the time and she really feels they are all reaching puberty symptoms earlier.

My son says I am not nice lately either..I said sorry . I am. I just can't stand it when they all come home from school this week ( and yes its only week 2 ) and she starts. She just won't stop.

The Weekend

Well it was my , now 14 yr old , sons birthday yesterday. He went to see the Monster Truck show at Newcastle. Luckily the weather cleared up in the afternoon and they didn't get wet. The boys got home around 11 pm. ( they all stayed here the night)

I had a phone call from my Ex's father and girlfriend Saturday .they were on their way down from Qld. So they arrived around 8.45 pm and stayed the night. It was great to see them again. Have not seen them for a few years. Ex's father has lost a lot of weight but he has had a stroke and heart problems and now diabetes. They extended a warm invitation to go visit them up their way.

Ex rang this morning ranting about 16 yr old son having a house party at his house and being charged and then getting a fine from the rail police. I told him son lives with you and you should be on top of things with him and his house was his responsbility. He wanted me to rush over to check out the house.

Nic rang her brother...aparantly he and his friends were roaming around the streets at all hours and didn't feel they could go back to anyones house to sleep so they decided to catch train home to 16 yr olds home but had no money. They got busted and received $50 fines. There was no house party.

Son is remorseful and has learnt a lesson. I also told him he could have rang me. He is now dreading his father coming home. I told him his father is going to yell..because that is what he does..he will just have to deal with it.
