Doctors

I have seen the doctor more than I care to of late.

Miss 9 yr old has been complaining of a sore heel for awhile so I booked her in. Then the night before, she starts screaming in pain so we race down to the Drs before he closes. The pain eased by the time we got in and he couldn't find anything but her heart was slightly irregular so now I am off to get an ECG done next Monday. ( the soonest I could get in)

Luckily the preschool still isn't open so I can start late that morning. Then Friday week I have to take 14 yr old for his bi-annual heart check up. I know all appt.s are necessary but I am sick of waiting and the cost!!

Nic is 19 tomorrow..her friends are coming over for the day as I will be at work. Lucky for her ( hahahahaha) miss 9 yr old will be home as she now feels sick and the school swimming carnival is on tomorrow. So I won't be sending her.

my 14 yr old son is refusing to go to school as he had an orientation day and part 2 is tomorrow. When he first attended the high school last year he rubbed up the wrong way with the welfare teacher. I didn't think much of her either then. She was quite rude and demanding. She told him he was a 'mummys boy' after I left. I was with him as he was the only student from his school to get into this high school. I only stayed for the talks in the hall and left when they went for the tour of the school. He never told me this until much later as he thought she was the principle and didn't want me saying anything.

She is running this programm and yells all day. My son can't stand people yelling all the time. He has made it very clear that he won't go to school. I am thinking I should just let him stay home so I at least know where he will be while I am at work. He is not doing school work just a 'getting to know you thing". Bad I know.. I haven't told him I am thinking this way as yet.

Hello lil harry,
I hope everyone gets on ok, would be rather scary having a 9 year old in lots of pain.
Happy Birthday to Nic then for tomorrow and I hope she has a lovely day.
Well some people are rude no matter what, and it's not nice to have to listen to a person shouting all day long, I hate that. I talk softly and I am always being asked, 'what did you say' :) and if people yell at me I don't answer them....so I can relate to your son.
Take care,
Margaret

Hiya! Hope your daughter had a great birthday. Hope all the medical problems sort themselves out and its nothing serious. I agree- the waiting and paying are the worst part bout doctor's!!
That teacher sounds absolutely evil. I don't blame your son for not wanting to go. It's a real shame when a bad teacher ruins a kids school day. Hope she's the only awful one!

lil harry, I found the doctors here on the North Coast to be hap hazard, Fed suggested I go to Out Patients .. takes a few minutes to convince them 'your' Dr. is 'shut' or 'full-up'. Attention to your problem is thorough and they follow through with a phone call if necessary! Well worth the wait.

lil harry,
Teachers can make or break a childs school days and can relate to your son not wishing to go...years ago had the same problem with my youngest..teacher suggest he needed a speech therapist at pre school...I explained to her that he was a quiet child and did not need singling out and if indeed he required remedial assistance I would seek it... explained I spoke quietly and she was a very loud woman...whoa hoo that went over well. I do not envy you and all the mothers having to deal with "the system" and some of the misfits in it. . I do think the process would be more difficult to negotiate now. Kind regards, Elizabeth
