My house sucks..I know this..it is a crappy too small house but it is our house.
It gets me down occasionally because we don't have room to move at times. I get over it though and be thankful for knowing we don't have to worry about moving any time soon.
When my kids start having a go at me about the house though, it affects me differently. Hell I know the faults of this house better than they will ever know. Throwing it in my face, like its all my fault is a kick in the guts.
They are being very selfish at the moment..everything is about them..I want this..I want that..I want my friends over, take me to my friends, help me with this because I left it to the very last minute..'I do everything around this place '( like taking the garbage out once a week if I am lucky) and killing each other every chance they have.
I am over it.
I have asked them to make sure they do the little things to keep on top of things..they can't even manage this.
If I ask them to do something..I am asking the world..
then my 15yr old son throws the trump card..'you do know know ..big brother only comes here to use the internet ..its not like he wants to be here you know..' Ouch..thanks son..
I don't want them to grovel and be thankful for every little thing I do..it just hurts listening to them complain about they way we live, when I am doing the best I can.

OMG where have I heard this before...
Don`t worry you are definitely not alone...Kids these days think that everyone owes them...It`s nothing like when we were younger....
I was out of home fending for myself at 15...I look at my two eldest and think my god, if they were to do it now they wouldn`t cope....
Kids can be very ungreatful at times but hey you can always throw the trump card of "if you don`t like it there`s the front door"....lol
I do that now and guess what, they are still here....
I also know exactly how you feel my kids are the same and it really pisses me off. They have no idea how good they have it and like you I know the faults in this house and don't need them to tell me over and over again.
Now they are all adults I have said to them when they start going on about the house calling it a dump, I have told them they don't have to live here.
My house is often very crowded when every one is living here.
I hardly ever have the sound up but did tonight and was greated with Little Boxes :) which goes with the beginning of your post.
Can relate to the children not doing things and wanting to be taken here and there......think they mostly all the same. Houses are home, but there is always something wrong with a house no matter how many we have or could live in.
